Riccardo, have you traced your lines using the church records yet? I have a few older lines in my ancestry from Burgio & Marsala. I also have reason to suspect my ancestor Diego de Leone was a native of Trapani but he was born in 1645 so I would have to examine the church records to be certain.

Do you have your ancestry tree posted anywhere ?

Thanks
Jim :)

Dear James,
I found my ancestors visiting the Archivio di Stato di Trapani, where there are the second copies of civil record office regarding all the towns and village of the province.
My eldest ancestor was born on 1782, I didn't check any church records, there is not my ancestry on line, sorry
bye Riccardo banana

I just saw the Trapani Church records date back to 1503 (older than Carini which starts with 1527), and have been microfilmed by the LDS church! I will be in Salt Lake City in about a month, I think I will look for Diego's baptism there.

Jim :)

James..

Maybe you could also help but checking to see if you can find the missing manifest for Riccardo while you are there. I'm trying to narrow down a few things first but if we can't find it online, someone suggested the microfilms from Salt Lake..

Do you have any ideas? Riccardo has helped us all so I would like to somehow repay the favour..

THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU
James, my paternal line from Trapani belongs to the parish of San Pietro.
I already went to the priest a couple of times to research or have records, and he doesn't want to cooperate, because he said that the old records are all in a bad shape because of the weather and the war.
I know that Department of Culture in Trapani suppose to rewrite as a text all the records of San Pietro church.
I have a friend of my dad that works there.
When I go to Trapani next August I'll look for him to see what he can do for me!
bye Riccardo banana

Off hand, I couldn't tell you since its on the other thread. Its the 1902 manifest we're after..

Riccardo has been looking for this manifest for over 3 years now and it may not exist..possibly could have been destroyed or lost but we're going to check over everything again..just in case.

Thanks for trying..

Not, have to go and download Paint Pro again..
